Two injured in multiple-motorcycle crash


FAR MIDDLE FORK – Two were injured in a wreck involving two motorcycles on KY Rt. 378, with both drivers being transported to the hospital.

On Monday, July 1, at the intersection of Rt. 378 and Pioneer Road, Ricky Brengartner was sitting on his motorcycle and getting ready to pull onto Rt. 378 when Benjamin Simmons lost control of his motorcycle and hit Brengartner’s motorcycle.

Simmons was airlifted to Pikeville Medical Center, then transferred to the University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital, where he remains at press time on Tuesday. 

Brengartner was also transported to the hospital via ambulance, though his status is unknown at press time.

Magoffin County Sheriff Department Detective Neil Adams is still investigating the wreck and there have been no charges issued at this time.
