Teen hit by vehicle
FALCON – A Magoffin County teen was injured after being hit by a car on KY Rt. 40 Tuesday evening.
Just before 6 p.m. the Magoffin County Rescue Squad was dispatched to the Falcon area after receiving a call about a vehicle traveling on Rt. 40 hitting a 15-year-old boy.
According to the parent, the teenager just had returned home after weight training and went outside to check the mail. A few moments later they heard a loud noise and went outside, finding him lying in the road.
The teen was flown to Cabell Huntington Hospital, where he remains at press time on Wednesday. When Mortimer Media Group talked with his mother, he was going into surgery to have a rod placed in his leg due to a broken femur. He also had staples for a laceration on his head, but was responding to the medical staff and able to follow directions.
The Magoffin County Sheriff Department is investigating the incident.
