Stacy honored as 15th Region Player of the Year


PIKEVILLE - Magoffin County senior Kennedi Stacy was honored as the 15th Region Girls' Basketball Player of the Year during the region's annual banquet at the University of Pikeville on Sunday. 

Stacy, a guard, averaged a double-double for the Lady Hornets during the 2018-19 girls' high school basketball season. A Transylvania University signee, Stacy led Magoffin County with a 21.6 points per game scoring average. In 32 games, Stacy scored 690 points. 

One of the state's most productive girls' high school basketball players, Stacy averaged 11.9 rebounds per game. Stacy pulled down a total of 381 rebounds during her senior season. 

The Transylvania University-bound Stacy is one of the top players in the tradition-rich Magoffin County High School girls' basketball program's history.
