Power outage planned for Friday


SALYERSVILLE – Kentucky Power released earlier this week that a planned power outage is scheduled for Friday, affecting nearly 100 customers.

In order for Kentucky Power to safely cut rights-of-way, on July 31 two locations and 98 customers connected to poles at 737 and 834 Dixie Avenue will be affected by a power outage. 

Two messages will go out to customers included in the planned outage on Wednesday and Thursday at 3 and 7 p.m. both days. The message is included below:

This is an important message from Kentucky Power.   There will be a planned power outage affecting your area Friday, July 31, 2020, beginning around 8 a.m., and ending at approximately 12 Noon, to allow KPCo to safely cut right-of-way.  Customers receiving this message located in Salyersville will be affected.  In the event of inclement weather, this work may be re-scheduled for another date.   Kentucky Power regrets any inconvenience this activity may cause, but appreciates your patience and understanding as we work to safely maintain electric facilities in your area.
