In honor of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Magoffin County Extension Homemakers held a Pink Carpet luncheon at the Magoffin County Cooperative Extension office on October 24, spreading breast cancer awareness and honoring those who have or have had breast cancer. Over 120 people were in attendance, with 11 breast cancer survivors honored. Kaitlin Mekel Bailey did a presentation on makeup for women going through cancer treatments and many door prizes were given out. The Magoffin County High School Dance Team were in attendance at the event, volunteering their time to help clean up after the luncheon. Brooke and Layla Howard won the pumpkin-decorating contest, receiving a gift certificate. The event is held annually, but continues to grow each year!
