Perkins named to Academic All-MSC Team


PIKEVILLE - Magoffin County High School graduate Nathan Perkins is among 15 student-athletes from the University of Pikeville football program who have been named to the Academic All-Mid-South Conference Team.  

A record 15 student-athletes from the UPIKE football program were named to the Academic All Mid-South Conference Team earlier in the week. The previous record was 10 set by the 2017 UPIKE football squad.

Along with Perkins, Hunter Asher, Alexander Carmichael, Joe Fluker, Josh Green, Troy Hill, Luke Humphrey, Dennison Lowe, Nicholas Parsley, Luke Adkison, Jason Jones, Tellis Kennedy II, Hayden Moore, Kyle Nagy and Bennett Wilson each received the academic recognition.

Perkins is an offensive lineman for the Bears. 

In order to be nominated for Academic All-MSC by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved at least sophomore academic status.

On the field, UPIKE concluded the 2019 season over the weekend, finishing its latest campaign 5-5.
