One critically injured in Rt. 30 wreck
SALYERSVILLE – A Magoffin County man was critically injured in a single-vehicle crash on Monday, with his family asking for prayers.
The Magoffin County Rescue Squad was called to the single-vehicle wreck on KY Rt. 30 near the junction of Rt. 30 and the Mountain Parkway just after 11 p.m. on January 13. Reportedly, another motorist traveling behind the vehicle called the wreck into dispatch.
According to officials, the Crown Victoria, driven by Brandon Rowe, appeared to have left the roadway, hit the embankment, and overturned, rolling an unknown number of times. Rowe was ejected from his vehicle and found lying on the roadway by a motorist, who was reportedly his friend that was following behind him.
Rowe was unconscious and unresponsive when emergency crews arrived at the scene and would have been airlifted, however, heavy fog prevented medical helicopters from being able to accept the flight.
He was transported by ambulance to an area hospital, then transferred to a trauma center, where he is listed in critical condition at press time.
The Magoffin County Sheriff Department, Magoffin County Rescue Squad, Lifeguard Ambulance Services, and other emergency medical personnel responded to the scene.
The wreck is being investigated by the Magoffin County Sheriff Department.
His family is continuing to ask the community for prayers for Rowe.
