MCHS SENIOR TO COMPETE AT NATIONAL LEVEL

Savannah Whitaker won first place in Prepared Speech at the SkillsUSA competition last week in Louisville. Savannah won first place this year and at last year’s competition. She will be competing at SkillsUSA National Competition in June.  Savannah is a 17-year-old senior at Magoffin County High School, and the topic of her speech was "Career Ready, Starts Here." She prepared a 5-to-7-minute speech and gave the speech in front of judges from memory. No note cards or any other materials were allowed to help in her speech. Savannah plans to attend EKU in the fall.
