MC finalizes games versus Betsy Layne, Pike County Central

SALYERSVILLE - Magoffin County has finalized games versus Betsy Layne and Pike County Central for the 2020-21 boys' high school basketball season.

The Hornets are scheduled to visit Betsy Layne on November 28. 

Magoffin County is slated to venture to Pike County Central on December 17.  

Under the direction of veteran head coach Scott Castle, Magoffin County exited the 2019-20 season 15-15. The Hornets fell short against Martin County in the 2019-20 57th District Boys' Basketball Tournament Semifinals. 

 A member of the neighboring 58th District, Betsy Layne ended the 2019-20 boys' high school basketball season 17-12. The Bobcats suffered an upset loss to Prestonsburg in the 2019-20 58th District Boys' Basketball Tournament Semifinals. 

Magoffin County split a pair of games with Betsy Layne during the 2019-20 season. 

Pike County Central is a member of the 60th District. Following a loss to rival Belfry in the 60th District Boys' Basketball Tournament Semifinals, Pike County Central exited the 2019-20 season 8-21. New head coach Robert Amis is preparing to guide the Hawks. Amis replaced former head coach Ryan Whitaker on the Pike County Central bench. 

The Hornets defeated the Hawks in two of three meetings during the 2019-20 season. 

Magoffin County will finalize and release its complete 2020-21 schedule later in the offseason.
