Lovely named to C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll


DALLAS - Marshall University junior outfielder Jaren Lovely has been named to the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll. 

A total of 3,143 student-athletes have earned recognition by being named to the Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll during the 2019-20 academic year, C-USA Commissioner Judy MacLeod announced on Thursday, May 7. Student-athletes named to the Commissioner’s Honor Roll maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.

The total marks an 8 percent increase from the previous year. Florida International University totaled the highest number of student-athletes on the honor roll with 282 members.  

On the field, Lovely, a Salyersville native, batted .243 in 13 games for the Thundering Herd in the abbreviated 2020 college baseball season. Lovely connected for two home runs and nine RBIs. The Magoffin County High School graduate shared the Marshall University team lead for home runs and ranked third on the squad in runs batted in.
