Lady Hornets show improvement over summer
SALYERSVILLE - The Magoffin County girls' basketball team concluded its summer season recently. Under the direction of head coach Justin Williams, the Lady Hornets showed improvement.
"I thought summer ball went well," said Williams. "We played four to five games. I viewed our summer ball games this season as practice sessions. We depended on our seniors a lot last season. So, going into summer ball, I was curious to how we'd respond. They responded well. I saw good improvement in the players. I think it will take time for this team to carve out its identity. But they are hard workers, good listeners and quick learners - all traits coaches love to see in their teams. Our summer workouts have been intense and good. I'm really looking forward to the season starting. I think our fans will be pleasantly surprised by the improvement many of the players have shown."
