Irvin Allen, Jr.
Irvin Allen, Jr. age 76 of Long Creek Road, Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky. He was born August 22, 1942 at Salt Lick in Gapville, Kentucky to the late Irvin and Oralee Davis Allen. He was the husband of Ethel Mae Brown Allen, who preceded him in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Sue Brown and Brenda Kay Howard both of Salyersville, Kentucky, two brothers, Rex Allen of Salyersville, Kentucky and Ed Allen of Syracuse, Indiana, and three sisters, Marsue Dillon of Salyersville, Kentucky, Kathy Chuck of Middlebury, Indiana, and Lula Mae Endler of Port Saint Lucie, Florida. Five grandchildren, James R. Howard, Cassandra Howard, Coty R. Brown, Brody L. Brown and Kimberly L. Helton, and four great grandchildren, Lily G. Howard, Layla ElSakka, Alana Hope Howard, and Layth ElSakka also survive.
Irvin was the pastor of the Church of the Living God.
In addition to his wife and parents, Irvin is preceded in death by two sons, Jerry Allen and Ricky Allen, two brothers, Brunie Allen and Ray Allen, and two sisters, Emma Jean Allen and Beatrice Allen.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Friday, March 15, 2019 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Darvin Howard, Harold Clemons, Bethel Bolen, and Dobbin Ratliff officiating. Burial will follow in the Allen Cemetery at Long Creek, Kentucky. Friends may visit the funeral home after 6 pm Wednesday, March 13, 2019, all day Thursday, and anytime Friday prior to funeral services.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made to the Church of the Living God Steeple Fund.
