Hornets to meet Golden Eagles in district tournament


INEZ - Number four seed Magoffin County will meet top-seeded Johnson Central in the semifinals of the 57th District Baseball Tournament at Sheldon Clark High School 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 18. 

Johnson Central swept a two-game 57th District regular-season series between the two teams in April, defeating Magoffin County 12-2 in five innings and 17-0 in four innings. 

Paintsville (two seed) will face Sheldon Clark (three seed) in the other game of the 57th District Baseball Tournament Semifinals. First pitch for the Paintsville-Sheldon Clark postseason baseball matchup is slated for 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 18.

The 57th District Baseball Tournament title game is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Monday, May 20. 

Sheldon Clark High School will host the entire 57th District Baseball Tournament.
