Grand jury releases indictments on Jan. 3

SALYERSVILLE – A Magoffin County grand jury released the following indictments on January 3:

Merrietta Standafar, 40, of Lexington, is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, greater than or equal to two grams methamphetamine, first offense (Class C felony); possession of marijuana (Class B misdemeanor); two counts of third-degree possession of a controlled substance, drug unspecified (Class A misdemeanors); and three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia (Class A misdemeanors). According to the indictment, on or about November 2, 2018, Standafar allegedly possessed a quantity of methamphetamine, marijuana, unspecified substances, and drug paraphernalia.

Tommy J. Minix, 33, of Patchell Minix Road, Salyersville, is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, greater than or equal to two grams of methamphetamine, first offense (Class C felony); possession of marijuana (Class B misdemeanor); two counts of third-degree possession of a controlled substance, drug unspecified (Class A misdemeanors); and three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia (Class A misdemeanors). According to the indictment, on or about November 2, 2018, Minix allegedly possessed a quantity of methamphetamine, marijuana, unspecified substances, and drug paraphernalia.

Benjie C. Salyer (also goes by Mann), 43, of Elam Street, Salyersville, is charged with four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment (Class D felonies). According to the indictment, on or about October 31, 2018, Salyer allegedly engaged in conduct, creating a substantial danger of death or serious physical injury to four people. 
Warrants were issued for all three people charged by the grand jury on January 3.
