Four vie for Miss Magoffin 2017

SALYERSVILLE - The Miss Magoffin County Scholarship Pageant will be held on Monday, Sept. 4st, at 7:00 p.m. at the Prater’s Fort Cabin Complex in Salyersville. Miss Magoffin County 2016-17, Kyla Paige Hale will say farewell to a very memorable year!  The theme for this year’s pageant is “Solid Gold” and will feature Miss Magoffin, the MCHS Dance Team, under the direction of Andrea Preston, and other local entertainers performing songs and skits. Emceeing the pageant will be Magoffin County’s own Jim Caldwell, weatherman at WKYT-TV in Lexington. 

Director Jincy Bailey is excited to have four beautiful ladies competing for the title of Miss Magoffin County 2017-18.They are:

Contestant No. 1 is Emilee Fairchild of Paintsville, KY. She is the 20 year old daughter of Aaron and Paula Fairchild. A sophomore at Big Sandy Community and Technical College, she is majoring in Nursing & Pharmacy. Her platform issue is JDRF - Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. For her talent, Emilee will play the piano. 

Contestant No. 2 is Emily Gasparac of Salyersville. She is the 21 year old daughter of Tracy and Tiffancy Gasparac. A senior at Big Sandy Community and Technical College, she plans to obtain a degree in Social Work. Her platform issue is Awareness of Blood, Skin, Eye and Organ Donation. For her talent, Emily will sing. 

Contestant No. 3 is Kaleigh Conley of West Liberty. She is the 17 year old daughter of Tony and Tabby Conley. A senior at Morgan County High School, she plans to attend Morehead State University. Her platform issue is Drug Abuse Prevention. For her talent, Kaleigh will sing. 

Contestant No. 4 is Elivia Gibson of Salyersville. She is the 17 year old daughter of Cathy Cantrell and Matthew Gibson. A senior at Magoffin County High School, she plans to attend Morehead State University. Her platform issue is “Breaking the Chains of Domestic Violence”. For her talent, Elivia will present a lyrical dance. 

The winner of Miss Magoffin County will advance to the Miss Kentucky Scholarship Pageant, a franchise of the Miss America Pageant, to be held in July 2018 in Lexington, KY.
