Four Hornets average double figures in scoring

Aden Barnett averaged a team-high 19.2 points per game for Magoffin County during the 2019-20 boys' high school basketball season. As a freshman, Barnett was among the top scorers in the 15th Region.

SALYERSVILLE - Magoffin County benefitted from a balanced offensive attack throughout the 2019-20 boys' high school basketball season. Four Hornets averaged double figures in scoring.

Freshman guard Aden Barnett led the Hornets in scoring, averaging 19.2 points per game. In 30 games, Barnett scored 577 points. Barnett was among the top scorers in the 15th Region. 

Following Barnett in scoring for the Hornets, Isaiah Salyer averaged 14.7 points per game. Barnett scored 441 points in 30 games. 

Behind Barnett and Salyer in scoring for the Hornets during the latest boys' high school basketball season, Randy Bailey averaged 10.8 points per game for the Hornets. 

Nearly matching Bailey in scoring for Magoffin County, Grayson Whitaker averaged 10.6 points per game. 

Mason Lovely (4.3 ppg) and Lucas Litteral (3.2 ppg) were also instrumental for Magoffin County offensively. 

Bailey led Magoffin County inside, averaging a team-high 6.5 rebounds per game for the Hornets. 

As a team, Magoffin County shot 46.8 percent from the field. The Hornets shot 33.7 percent from the free throw line.

Magoffin County shot 64.8 percent from the free throw line. 

The Hornets ended the 2019-20 boys' high school basketball season 15-15. Eventual 15th Region champion Martin County eliminated the Hornets from the postseason, defeating Magoffin County 64-46 in the 57th District Boys' Basketball Tournament Semifinals.
