Everett Ray Borders


Everett Ray Borders, age 92, a resident of Vanzel Borders Road in Salyersville, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2018 at Mountain View Nursing Home in Elkhorn City, Kentucky.

Ray was born February 11, 1926 in Salyersville, Kentucky the son of the late Dewey and Dora Penix Borders.  Wife, Addlean Hunley Borders, son, James Borders, brothers, Vanzel Borders, Chester Borders, and sister, Peachie Crace also preceded him in death.

Ray was employed by General Motors in Dayton, Ohio until his retirement.  Ray served his country in the United States Army and was a Veteran of World War II until he returned state-side with an honorable discharge.

Those left to mourn include daughter, Janet Sue Borders of Salyersville, Kentucky, son Eddie Borders and wife Roxanne of Palm Desert, California, grandchildren, Amy Borders, Matthew Borders, Stacey Borders Clark, Holly Verburg, Scott Clark, Donna May, Michael Borders, brothers, Ken Borders of Oil Springs, Kentucky, Joe Borders of Flemingsburg, Kentucky, Junior Borders of London, Ohio, Roger Borders of Michigan, sisters, June Collins of London, Ohio, Jewell Arnett of Dayton, Ohio, a host of family and friends who love and miss him.

Funeral services for Everett Ray Borders were conducted Monday, November 26, 2018 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of the Salyersville Funeral Home in Salyersville, Kentucky.  Clergy John Blanton and CJ Tackett delivered comforting words on the day of service.  Interment followed in the Borders Cemetery on Lick Creek in Salyersville, Kentucky.
