Double-fatal wreck on 460, road to reopen

MAGOFFIN/JOHNSON LINE - Officials say US 460 near the Johnson/Magoffin County line at the junction of KY Rt. 825 will be opening back up shortly, but ask drivers to use caution in that area since there is still a lot of fuel/fluid in the road.

The road closure is following a two-vehicle double-fatality accident involving a log truck belonging to a company out of Morgan County and a car traveling toward Salyersville.

The coroner told Mortimer Media Group the car collided with the log truck.

Timothy Rowe, 23, of Paintsville, passed away at the scene of the accident and Tonya Fletcher, 43, of Salyersville, died at Paul B. Hall Medical Center. Fletcher was driving the car and Rowe was a passenger. The log truck driver was also injured, but his status is not known at this time.

More details will be posted on Your News Today and the Salyersville Independent website tomorrow.
