Violet Farris, age 80, a resident of Down and Around Road in Salyersville, Kentucky, passed away Friday, August 3, 2018 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. Violet was born October 2, 1937 in Rochester, Indiana the daughter of the late Cecil and Hazel Wilhelm Clingler. Husband, Eugene Farris, sister, Anna Bell Coughenour, Daughters, Caroline Farris, Pam Miller, brothers, Irvin Clingler, Melvin Clingler, Virgil Clingler, and John Clingler preceded her in death. Violet was a homemaker and devoted member to her family and friends. Those left to mourn includes sons, Tim Chaney and wife Marsha of Argos, Indiana, Tom Chaney and wife Karen of North Manchester, Indiana, Alvie Vore and wife Tiffany of Corydon, Indiana, Larry Farris of Rochester, Indiana, daughters, Trella Miller of Salyersville, Kentucky, Diana Collins of Cynthiana, Kentucky, Stella Farris Kauffman of Dwale, Kentucky, Tammy Pope of Dwale, Kentucky, Cammie Mitchell of Salyersville, Kentucky, sister, Mildred Weiger of Indianapolis, Indiana and a host of family and friends who love and miss her. Funeral services for Violet Farris were conducted Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of the Salyersville Funeral Home in Salyersville, Kentucky. Clergy Floyd Allen, Pat Allen delivered comforting words on the day of services. Interment followed in the Brown Family Cemetery on Rt. 30 in Jackson, Kentucky.
