James A. "Boot" Cole


James A. "Boot" Cole, also known as "Big Mack" by his trucker friends, age 82 of  Fox Run Road, Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018 at the Saint Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. He was born October 25, 1935 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late Luke and Jessie Gipson Cole. He was the husband of Christine Allen Cole, who survives.
Survivors also include six sons, David (Tammy) Cole, Bobby (Brenda) Cole, Benny (Patty) Cole, Lennie (Debbie) Cole, and Douglas (Teresa) Allen all of Salyersville, Kentucky, and Dwayne (Beth) Allen of Lexington, Kentucky, two daughters, Sharon (Forest) Welch of Paintsville, Kentucky, and Nella (Terry) Morgan of Salyersville, Kentucky, and three sisters, Dottie Sue Caldwell of Salyersville, Kentucky, Helen Pennington of Georgetown, Kentucky, and Katherine Salyers of Royalton, Kentucky. Twenty grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren also survive. 
In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley McKenzie Cole, one daughter, Rella Faye Cole, four brothers, Arthur Cole, Jessie Willard Cole, Finley Ray Cole, and Hobert Cole, and two sisters, Betty Lou Coburn, and Anna Jewel Coburn.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 pm Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Lykins officiating. Burial followed in the Cain Cemetery at Salyersville, Kentucky. 
Arrangements were under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
