Della Mae (Collins) Collins, age 89, a resident of Half Mountain Road in Salyersville, Kentucky; passed away Friday, October 13, 2017 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville, Kentucky after a lengthy illness.
Della Mae was born February 13, 1928 in Lambric, Breathitt County, Kentucky the daughter of Elliott and Nora Caudill Collins. Also preceding her in death is husband David Collins, sons, Anthony Collins, Guy Collins, Van Collins, brothers, Ellis Collins, Arlie Collins, Carew Collins, Granis Collins, Kendric Collins, Corbett Collins, A.B. Collins, sisters, Nancy Collins, Nell Conley, Margaret Sumner, Mollie B. McFaddin.
Della Mae was baptized and a member of the Little Rachel Church in Royalton, Kentucky. She was a homemaker.
Those left to mourn includes sons, Vern Collins and wife Sondra of Surprise, Arizona, Davie Collins and wife Janet of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, daughters, Pamela Warren of Owenton, Kentucky, Hope Williams and husband Chalmer of Litchfield, Michigan, Holly Collins of Nancy, Kentucky, Darla Holiday and husband Michael of Gunlock, Kentucky, Denise Collins of Salyersville, Kentucky, eighteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services for Della Mae Collins were conducted on Wednesday, October 18, at 11:00 AM from the Salyersville Funeral Home in Salyersville, Kentucky. Clergy Randy Brown and Keenan Darby delivered comforting words on the day of services. Burial followed in the Collins Family Cemetery on Half Mountain in Salyersville, Kentucky.
