Clara Jean Howard


Clara Jean Howard age 78 of Lick Creek Road, Salyersville, passed away on Sunday morning February 18, 2018 at her home.  She was born February 23, 1939 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late Toy and Delphia Howard. She was the wife of James "Blackie" Howard, who survives.
In addition to her husband, those left to mourn her passing include two sons, Rick (Jill) Howard and Russell (Jackie) Howard both of Salyersville, Kentucky, one daughter, Debbie (Eddie) Harvey of Owingsville, Kentucky, one brother, Vandal Howard of Winchester, Kentucky, and five sisters, Phyllis Casebolt, Wanetta Ward, Alta Howes, Shirley Helton, and Wilma Howard all of Salyersville, Kentucky. Five grandchildren, Natasha Harvey Allen, Zachariah Dean Harvey, Emily Katherine Carpenter, James Morgan Howard, and Peyton Rae Cox, and two great grandchildren, Nyla Grace Allen, and Noah Grant Allen also survive.
Clara Jean was a devoted member of the Bloomington Baptist Church.  
In addition to her parents, Clara Jean is preceded in death by four brothers, Frank Howard, Lindin Howard, Calvin Howard, and Jolly Howard, and two sisters, Alma Adams and Joyce Howard.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 am Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Talmage Mann and Grant Cantrell officiating. Burial followed in the Toy & Delphia Howard Cemetery at Lick Creek, Kentucky. 
Arrangements were under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
