Connelley Racing wins in North Carolina
CHARLOTTE, NC - Fresh off of an impressive win at the NMRA & NMCA All American Nationals in Michigan the weekend before, Martin Connelley and his crew were on the road and in action again this past weekend at Shadyside Dragway just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina.
The team competed in DXP Street, a class that features street appearing vehicles powered by nitrous injected small block V8 engines. All cars are required to run a specific size carburetor, and a specific part number nitrous system. The rules are intended to keep the cars closely matched, so the emphasis is put on a team’s ability to tune their racecar.
The first ever DXP Street race was held back in February in Valdosta, Georgia and the Connelley Racing crew came out on top, qualifying number one, setting the class record and going on to win the race. This past weekend in North Carolina turned out very similar, as the team qualified number one yet again, and went on to win the race.
Connelley and his gang will be heading back to Georgia next month for the final DXP Street race of the year in hopes of completing the season sweep.
