Charles Puckett


Charles Puckett, age 85, a resident of Dixie Avenue in Salyersville, Kentucky; passed away Monday, July 27, 2020 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky after a lengthy illness.

Charles was born September 24, 1934 in Salyersville, Kentucky the son of the late Jim and Maxie Cook Puckett.  Daughter, Teresa G. "Teddy" Puckett, brothers, Harry Puckett, Price Puckett, Leonard Puckett, Ronald Puckett, sisters, Megnon Puckett, Genevive Puckett, Margaret Workman also preceded in death.

Charles was a carpenter at trade until his retirement.  He also was an Assistant Fire Chief and member of the Salyersville Fire Department.  He was a member of the New Bethel Assembly of God Church on Burning Fork Road in Salyersville, Kentucky.

Those left to mourn includes wife, Joan Viola White Puckett, whom he married February 27, 1954; of Salyersville, Kentucky, son, Charles Puckett and wife Anita of Salyersville, Kentucky, daughters, Edith Lykins of Salyersville, Kentucky, Connie Puckett of Salyersville, Kentucky, Melissa Arnett and husband Anthony of Salyersville, Kentucky, brothers, George Puckett of Salyersville, Kentucky, Lester Puckett of Salyersville, Kentucky, Earl Puckett of Salyersville, Kentucky, Jim Puckett of Salyersville, Kentucky, Phillip Puckett of Salyersville, Kentucky, John Puckett of Salyersville, Kentucky, sisters, Dorthy Conley of Salyersville, Kentucky, Shirley Brown of Salyersville, Kentucky, Francis Puckett of Salyersville, Kentucky, Cathy Lane of Toto, Indiana, nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild with one on the way, a host of family and friends who love and miss him.

Funeral services for Charles Puckett will be conducted Friday, July 31, 2020 at 1:00 PM from the New Bethel Assembly of God Church on Burning Fork Road in Salyersville, Kentucky.  Clergy Charles Ray Puckett and Fred Roark will give comforting words on the day of services.  Interment will follow in the Earl May Cemetery in Salyersville, Kentucky.  The family will welcome friends Thursday, July 30, after 12:00 PM and any time prior to at the church. COVID19 restrictions are enforced for public safety.
