Skaggs among seven UPIKE players named Academic All-MSC
PIKEVILLE - Seven members of the University of Pikeville softball team earned Academic All Mid-South Conference honors, league officials announced on Wednesday, May 2.
In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved at least sophomore academic status.
UPIKE's honorees were Ragan Cutright, Kendra Gannon, Jordan Gentry, Carrie Griffin, Kitty Raymond, Hannah Skaggs and Ashonda Underwood. Skaggs is a Magoffin County High School graduate. She has excelled in the classroom and on the field for the UPIKE softball team throughout the 2017-18 school year.
Gentry and Griffin earned the academic award for the second straight season while the rest of the Bears are first time recipients.
