Ohair ranked among region’s Top 10 players

SALYERSVILLE - Heading into the 2016-17 season, Magoffin County junior Allie Ohair is ranked among the 15th Region’s Top 10 girls’ basketball players. 

Ohair is ranked ninth in the Preseason 15th Region Girls’ Basketball Top 10 Player Rankings. 

Girls’ basketball coaches from throughout the 15th Region voted on the Top 10 players earlier in the schoolyear. The Preseason 15th Region Girls’ Basketball Top 10 Players list was released after being published in The Cats’ Pause 2016-17 Kentucky Basketball Yearbook in October. 

Ohair helped to lead Magoffin County to a 15th Region runner-up finish back in March. She produced for the Lady Hornets throughout the 2015-16 season. 

Johnson Central senior Ali May earned the top spot in the 15th Region player rankings. One of teammates, senior Lauryn Salyer, occupies the second spot. 

In addition to Ohair and the duo from Johnson Central, the 15th Region players’ list also features Presley Chirico (Paintsville), Hope Lafferty (Sheldon Clark), Savanna Nunemaker (Pikeville), Kayla Newsome (Shelby Valley), Summer Rowe (Shelby Valley), Janna Jarvis (Prestonsburg) and Leslie Stewart (Pikeville).  

Ohair and her Magoffin County hoops teammates have been busy practicing in preparation for the 2016-17 season. The Lady Hornets are under the guidance of first-year head coach Doug Greene.
