SALYERSVILLE - Magoffin County head coach Justin Combs has confirmed the Hornets will start spring practice after spring break. Earlier in the schoolyear, Combs concluded his second season as head coach of the Hornets.
"We have been lifting and doing our speed training training this offseason," said Combs. "We will start spring ball after spring break."

Offensively, Magoffin County's top two rushers ended their 2017 seasons early. Brady Whitaker led the Hornets on the ground, rushing 51 times for a team-best 438 yards and seven touchdowns in seven games. Whitaker is due back for his senior season in the fall.
Magoffin County competes in Class 3A, District 7. The Kentucky High School Athletic Association's draft football alignment has Magoffin County in Class 3A, District 8.
