HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL: Lady Hornets fall to Bath County

SALYERSVILLE - Host Magoffin County played well but couldn’t win its match versus Bath County. Visiting Bath County beat the Lady Hornets 3-1 in a high school volleyball match on Thursday.
The Lady Cats prevailed 25-19, 19-25, 25-23, 25-22.
With the loss, Magoffin County remained winless, dropping to 0-6.
Bath County evened its record to 5-5 with the win. 
The Lady Hornets returned to the floor after hosting 15th Region foe Prestonsburg two days earlier. 
Magoffin County suffered five losses during August, the first month of the 2016 season. The Lady Hornets are currently 0-2 in the 57th District, which also features Johnson Central, Paintsville and Sheldon Clark. Tied with Allen Central for the top spot in the 15th Region, Paintsville leads the 57th District standings. The Lady Tigers own a 2-0 district record following wins over Magoffin County and crosstown rival Johnson Central. 
Magoffin County is scheduled to host Bath County on Sept. 15.
Bath County is a rival from the neighboring 16th Region. The Lady Cats compete with Fleming County and Rowan County in the 61st District.
