HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL: Lady Hornets drop district match to Paintsville

SALYERSVILLE - Magoffin County faced the tough task of hosting reigning 15th Region champion Paintsville for a 57th District volleyball match on Tuesday. Paintsville managed to pull away from Magoffin County in the district match, winning 3-0. 

With the loss, Magoffin County slipped to 0-6 overall and 0-3 in the 57th District.

Paintsville improved to 10-2 overall and 3-0 in the district with the win. 

The Lady Tigers dominated in the opening set of the district volleyball match, prevailing 25-2.

Paintsville remained in control during the second set to win 25-11.

Continuing to keep distance between itself and Magoffin County in the third set, Paintsville won 25-10. 

The Lady Hornets are slated to visit Paintsville for another 57th District match on September 24. 

Magoffin County has regular-season matches remaining versus Morgan County, Buckhorn, June Buchanan, Jackson City, Robertson County, Prestonsburg, Lawrence County, Pike County Central, Sheldon Clark and Shelby Valley.
