Collision on 460

SALYERSVILLE – Three were injured in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 460 on Thursday.

On August 9 just before noon a Crown Vic traveling east on West U.S. 460 toward Salyersville dropped off the shoulder and driver (unidentified at press time) overcorrected, spinning the vehicle an estimated 180 degrees into the westbound lane, hitting another car.

On impact, the Crown Vic was overturned onto the passenger side. The driver, who was unrestrained, was thrown into the passenger back seat. He sustained head and other injuries.

Kentucky State Police Trooper Zach Haney witnessed the accident and noticed there was gas coming from the Crown Vic, so he helped the driver out of the vehicle and he was transported via ambulance to Morgan County ARH.

A male and female from Paintsville were in the other car and reportedly were both wearing their seatbelts. Their airbags were deployed and they were also transported to Morgan County ARH for possible back, neck and arm injuries.
