Doris Whitaker Marshall, age 71 a resident of Royalton, Kentucky passed away March 3, 2011 at the Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky.  Doris was born September 26, 1939 in Magoffin County, the daughter of the late Orville and Jane Salyers Whitaker.  Survivors include two daughters:  Judith Collinsworth and Pauletta May both of Salyersville, Kentucky; one brother:  C.M.

He was born on February 18, 1940 in Salyersville, Kentucky to Wendell Salyer and Nannie (Patrick) Salyer. He was married to Darlene Kay Schipper, who preceded him in death in 1997.
Paul was a resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana for the past 45 years, where he was a member of Living Hope Ministries of Warsaw, and a member of the Warsaw Masonic Lodge #73.

Abramson visits Magoffin

Jerry Abramson, the longest serving mayor of Louisville and candidate for lieutenant governor running with Steve Beshear, visited Magoffin County Tuesday, touring the Courthouse and talking with the people “listening, learning and asking questions.”

Magoffin ranked one of the laziest counties in nation

The Centers for Disease Control released a study last month that shows Kentucky is far too inactive, with four of the five most inactive counties in the nation coming from Kentucky, alone.

CTC sponsors blood drive
