Edward Ellis Turner was born June 7, 1920 at Minnie, Kentucky. He was the eldest son of the late Joe “Hoss” Turner and Myrtie (Martin) Turner. He died on Friday, August 6, 2010, at his home in McDowell, Kentucky, at the age of 90 years.
Carl and Ella Risner of Middle Fork was the winner of the car given away during the 7th Annual Magoffin Community Day.
Magoffin County came out for Community Day on Saturday, with plenty of activities and entertainment for all, keeping a large crowd during the rain and steamy temperatures.
Local law enforcement received a 911 call on Thursday, August 19 around 11 p.m., reporting a possible burglar at Mountain Liquor on US 460.
An organizational meeting to reactivate the local Ministerial Association was held at Magoffin County Health Department on August 17, 2010.
Indian Mound Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution is proud to present the 2010 Good Citizen award to Gwendolyn Brooke Estep.
