The 6th grade classes at North Magoffin Elementary went on  a field trip to investigate the endless music possibilities at Magoffin County High School.

Brandon Adams, a second grade student in Mrs. Theresa Miller's classroom at Salyersville Grade School, constructed his own solar system. His class has been studying earth sun and stars. Brandon is the son of Dwayne and Steffanie Adams.

Ms. Adrienne Howard’s 4th grade class at South Magoffin Elementary has been working hard on electrical circuits.  Pam Gambill and Josh Brown are learning how they are used in every day life. In this photograph they are using circuits to light a light bulb.

Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) recently hosed two area high school tours of the various technical programs offered on the BSCTC Mayo and Hager Hill Campuses.　 Participating schools included Magoffin County High School.　

Complaints have ranged from the mildly inquisitive to the heated and even outlandish as electricity consumers seek answers to varying questions.

The Magoffin County Fiscal Court is joining with local citizens to voice opposition to an American Electric Power/Kentucky Power proposed rate increase.

Sydney Blanton, of Magoffin County, will compete in the Kentucky State Spelling Bee on Saturday, March 20, at the Frazier International History Museum in Louisville.

 
As Magoffin County celebrates its Sesquicentennial Anniversary, individuals spanning several states prepare to celebrate with us. As part of the festivities, a long-awaited Civil War Reenactment will take place next month.
