Richard Lee Smithers, age 82, a resident of Falcon Road in Salyersville, Kentucky; passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Kentucky.
Mr. Smithers was born April 20, 1932 in Jamestown, Tennessee the son of the late Charlie and Della Brassfield Smithers. Also, preceding him in death is his wife, Jolene Adkins Smithers; son, Danny Lee Smithers; and brothers, James Smithers, Raymond Smithers, Ernie Smithers, and August Smithers.

Patsy Sue Hampton Cantrell age 71 of Richmond, Kentucky formerly of Magoffin County, Kentucky passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, Kentucky. She was born March 15, 1943 in Bald Knob, West Virginia to the late Richard Hampton and Pauline Francis Holbrook Castle.

Amanda Stephanie Gipson, age 25, a resident of Jim Arnett Branch in Salyersville, Kentucky; passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015 in Murray, Kentucky.
Miss Gipson was born August 6, 1989 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Kentucky the daughter of James Robert and Karen Kay Gipson Cole.

Patrick “Pat” Arnett age 78 of New Lebanon, Ohio formerly of Magoffin County, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. He was born December 20, 1936 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late Henry and Tressie Patrick Arnett. He was preceded in death by his wife, Avanell Whitaker Arnett.

Buell Andrew “Andy” Adams age 65 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, February 1, 2015 at the Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville, Kentucky. He was born April 10, 1949 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late Buell “Lit” and Gladys Marie Wheeler Adams. Survivors include one brother Larry Edward (Theda) Adams of Salyersville, Kentucky, and one niece Jennifer Anne (Ramey) Wireman also of Salyersville, Kentucky.
In addition to his parents, Andy is preceded in death by one sister Virginia Faye Adams.

Arnold Carty age 76 of Hammonds Fork Road, Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 at his home. He was born August 8, 1938 at Stinson, Kentucky to the late Edgar and Ruie Penix Carty. He was the husband of Betty Montgomery Carty, who survives.

Francis M. Craft Gardner age 86 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015 at her home. She was born June 22, 1928 in Breathitt County, Kentucky to the late Edward and Bertie Dyer Craft. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Gardner. Survivors include two daughters, Candice Sue Mullins and Linda Lou Montgomery both of Salyersville, Kentucky, three brothers, Rex Craft, Raymond Craft and Roger Craft all of Michigan, three sisters, Brenda Stephens of Tennessee and Margie Pugh and Louise Renfro both of Michigan.

Margaret Oney Elam, age 84, a resident of Crooked Beech Branch in Cannel City, Kentucky; passed away Wednesday, January 28 at her home.  
Mrs. Elam was born August 29, 1930 in Salyersville, Kentucky the daughter of the late Curt and Maude Lykins Oney.  Also, preceding her in death is one son, James Anthony Elam; daughter, Ruthie Jean Elam; sister, Mary Oney; and brothers, Winfred Oney, Victor Oney, Parnell Oney, and Thelmer Oney.
Mrs. Elam was a homemaker and devoted to caring for her family.

Hattie Vertrice Williams Webb age 83 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Monday, January 26, 2015 at her home. She was born November 19, 1931 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late Luther and Ida Hunley Webb. She was the wife of James Franklin Webb, who preceded her in death. Survivors include five daughters; Wonnie (Darise) Minix , Brenda (Jeff) Burgett, Shelvie (Matthew) Arnett and Charolette Montgomery all of Salyersville, Kentucky, and Linda (Garry) Arnett of North Carolina, eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
