Danny B. Howard, age 57, a resident of Salyersville, KY passed away January 26, 2010 at the Paul B. Hall Medical Center.
Danny was born October 8, 1952 in Magoffin Co. KY, the son of Solen Howard and Janice Adams Howard.
Survivors include his parents, Solen and Janice Howard; his wife, Dottie Jean Hampton Howard; two daughters, Robin Michelle (Tracy) Hall and Paula Marie (James) Joseph, both of Salyersville, KY; three brothers, Thomas Lee (Diane) Howard, Jimmy Darrell (Wanda) Howard and Norman Allen (Pam) Howard, all of Salyersville, KY; two sisters, Donna Faye Koontz and Dorothy Jean Salyer, both of Salyersville, KY; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Danny was preceded in death by on brother, Johnny Ray Howard.
Funeral Services will be conducted January 29, 2010 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home with Carl Howard and Lindsey Meade officiating. Burial will follow in the Adams Cemetery at Mine Fork, KY.

Panzie Howard, age 88, a resident of Salyersville, KY passed away January 15, 2010 at the Salyersville Health Care Center.
Panzie was born August 28, 1921 in Magoffin County, KY, the daughter of the late Lonzie Howard and Betty Brown Howard.
Survivors include five sons, Nathan Howard of Greenup, KY, Woodrow Howard, JR, Larry Howard, Linvel Howard, and Gregory Howard, all of Salyersville, KY; three daughters, Monteza Lykins of West Liberty, KY, Margarita Arnett of Stanton, KY and Linda Flynt of Salyersville, KY; one brother, David Paul Howard of Salyersville, KY; seventeen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents; her husband, Woodrow Howard; four brothers, Frank Howard, Ernest Howard, Hager Howard and Herman Howard; three sisters, Ada Blanton, Carrie Howard and Ruie Hensley preceded Panzie in death.
Funeral Services were conducted January 17, 2010 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Brown, Rick Howard and Louie Howard officiating. Burial followed in the Moses Howard Cemetery at Coon Creek, KY.

Thelma Howard Push, age 84, a resident of Salyersville, KY passed away January 14, 2010 at her residence.
Thelma was born April 10, 1925 in Lackey, KY, the daughter of the late Wick Howard and Naomi Howard.
Survivors include two sons, Stephen (Linda) Push of Glen Allen, Virginia and Peter (Vee) Push of Lexington, KY; one brother, Robert (Gina) Howard of North Judson, Indiana; three sisters, Barbara (Edward) Lopez of Atlanta, Georgia, Sharlotte (Dexter) Mullins of Toto, Indiana and Kaye (Lloyd) Bakian of Indiana; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
In addition to her parents; her husband, Arthur Push preceded Thelma in death.
Funeral Services were conducted January 19, 2010 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home with David Trusty officiating. Burial followed in the Bluegrass Cemetery in Salyersville, KY.

Clarence Edward “Jake” Shepherd, age 57 of Hueysville, KY passed away Monday January 11, 2010 at the Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, KY. Edward was born September 14, 1952 at Gunlock in Magoffin County, KY to Grace Whitaker Shepherd Wireman who survives and the late Clarence Shepherd.
He is also survived by his wife Glenna Kay Hale Shepherd; two daughters Jennifer Hale of Whitesburg, KY and Tiffany Jo Shepherd of Hueysville, KY; two brothers Carl Shepherd and his wife Della of Hueysville, KY and Larry Kenneth   Shepherd and his wife Renee of Salyersville, KY; four sisters Dorothy Wireman and her husband Bill of Gunlock, KY, Phyllis Holliday of Lexington, KY, Ina Mae Risner and her husband Aaron and Jewell Wireman both of Royalton, KY. Besides his father, two brothers, Hurshell Shepherd and Don Shepherd, preceded Edward in death.
Edward was a heavy equipment operator for the coal industry and a member of the Garrett Regular Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Clarence Edward Shepherd were conducted at 11 A.M. Friday, January 15, 2010 from the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home in Martin, KY with burial following in the Shepherd Family Cemetery at Gunlock, KY

 
Clyde Holliday, age 91, a resident of Half Mountain Road in Salyersville, KY passed away January 11, 2010 at his home.
Clyde was born August 26, 1918 in Royalton, KY, the son of the late Clay and Ella Mae Salyer Holliday.
Survivors include one son, James Holliday; two brothers, Farmer Holliday of Ohio and Coin Holliday of Michigan; three grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Daisy Shepherd Holliday; one daughter, Thelma Holliday Back; four brothers, Clarence, Cash, Carl and Chalmer preceded Clyde in death.
Funeral Services will be conducted Today Thursday, January 14, 2010 from the Salyersville Funeral Home with Clergy Irvin Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Clyde Holliday Cemetery on Half Mountain Road in Salyersville, KY.

Betty Wireman Salyer, age 93, a resident of Gunlock, KY passed away January 8, 2010 at the Highlands Regional Medical Center.
Betty was born March 11, 1916 in Magoffin County, KY, the daughter of the late Dave Wireman and Julia Shepherd Wireman.
Survivors include three sons, James Gordon Salyer of Somerset, KY, Garland Ray Salyer and Colin Davie Salyer, both of Frenchburg, KY; two daughters, Helen Flint of Grasslake, MI and Suedell Allen of Akron, IN; one brother, Dave Jr. Wireman of Gunlock, KY; one sister, Julia Marie Wireman of Albion, MI; two special nieces, Sharon Holiday and Virginia Risner; seventeen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Byron Salyer; one son, John Wayne Salyer; one daughter, Sylvia Mcllumg; five brothers, Floyd Wireman, Tonie Wireman, Ramey Wireman, Jim Wireman and Frank Wireman; three sisters, Curtis Baldridge, Virgie Shepherd and Susie Toler preceded Betty in death.
Funeral Services were conducted January 11, 2010 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Ollie Watts officiating. Burial followed in the Salyer Cemetery at Gunlock, KY.

Randall “Randy” Wayne Fletcher, age 54, a resident of Gun Creek Road in Salyersville, KY passed away January 3, 2010 at his home.
Randy was born February 21, 1955 in Salyersville, KY, the son of the late Epp and Emma J. Cole Fletcher.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Risner Fletcher of Salyersville, KY; one son, David Randall Fletcher of Louisville, KY; three brothers, Marvin Fletcher and Harold Fletcher, both of Salyersville, KY and Roger Fletcher of Marion, OH; two sisters, Francis Home of Edison, OH and Betty A Wiley of Grovetown, Georgia.
Randy was also preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Dean Fletcher.
Funeral Services will be conducted January 8, 2010 from the Salyersville Funeral Home with clergy Lindsey Meade officiating. Burial will follow in the Fletcher Cemetery on Gun Creek Road in Salyersville, KY.

Walter “Joe” Howard, age 65, a resident of Salyersville, KY passed away November 24, 2009 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, KY.
Walter was born May 16, 1944 in Magoffin County, KY, the son of the late Thomas Walker Howard and Ethel Mae Shepherd Howard.
Survivors include his wife, Marcella Howard; two sons, Stanley (Karen) Howard and Thomas (Jennifer) Howard both of Salyersville, KY; two brothers, Byron Richard Howard and James Curtis Howard both of Salyersville, KY; one sister, Rita “Suzy” Helton of Salyersville, KY; four grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, one sister, Donna Marie Howard preceded Walter in death.
Funeral Services were conducted November 29, 2009 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Matthew Gullion officiating. Burial followed in the Howard Family Cemetery on Coal Branch in Salyersville, KY.

Arlene Faye Elrod Stephens, age 55, a resident of Howard Drive in Salyersville, KY passed away November 15, 2009 at her home.
Arlene was born November 6, 1954 in Cleveland, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Marion “Bob” and Naomi “Mimi” Howard Elrod.
Survivors include her husband, Stelson Stephens; four daughters, Andrea (Scott) Castle, Lori (Neal) Howard, Carrie (Doug) Hammann and Angie (Shawn) Handshoe, all of Salyersville, KY; one step son, Morgan Stephens; one sister, Rita Vanhoose of Salyersville, KY; seven grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, two sisters, Tammy Elrod Cooper and Jolene “Tincy” Elrod McFarlan and one granddaughter, Addison Reece Handshoe and one step daughter, Casey Stephens preceded Arlene in death.
Funeral Services were conducted November 18, 2009 from the Salyersville Funeral Home with clergy Eddie Dennison officiating. Burial followed in the Cooper Cemetery in Salyersville, KY.
