Anna Mae Powers age 94 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at her home. She was born November 20, 1920 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late Clark and Mittie Johnson Collinsworth. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Franklin Powers.
Chester B. “Cheb” Wireman age 57 of Royalton, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at his home. He was born May 3, 1957 in Paintsville, Kentucky to the late Chester Wireman and Oma Stone, who survives. Survivors include his wife Lisa Gibson Wireman, one son Bradley Curtis Wireman of Berea, Kentucky, three daughters Cantrella Marie Smith of Lexington, Kentucky, Hana Jo Wireman and Kenlee Payton Wireman of Salyersville, Kentucky, four brothers; Carl Wireman and Clark Wireman both of Royalton, Kentucky, Jeffrey Wireman of Nicholasville, Kentucky, and Jessee Wireman of Mt.
Deborah Howard Zola age 57 of Bradenton, Florida formerly of Magoffin County, Kentucky passed away Monday, December 8, 2014 at her home. She was born June 5, 1957 in Fremont, Ohio to the late Orville and Hilda Powers Howard. Survivors include her husband, Thomas Zola, two sons, John Rodriguez of Utah, and Lionel Rodriguez of Bradenton, Florida, two daughters, Heather Rodriguez of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, and Brandy Harlan of Bradenton, Florida, one sister, Marcia Burel of Clyde, Ohio, one niece, Evie Earhart of Clyde, Ohio, five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Verna Blanton Lemaster age 98 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Monday, December 1, 2014 at the Liberty of Beaver Creek Nursing Home in Dayton, Ohio. She was born May 1, 1916 at Tick Lick in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late L.D. “Doke” and Sallie Conley Blanton. She is preceded in death by her husband Wishard Lemaster. Survivors include one daughter Phyllis (Adam) Conley of Dayton, Ohio, two nephews Jay Blanton and Richard (Dick) Conley, three nieces Novella McCarty, Henrietta Hinkle and Jeannie Salyer, and several great nieces and nephews.
Jimmy L. Tackett, age 63, a resident of East Maple Street Salyersville, Kentucky; passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014 at the Cabell Huntington Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia.
Mr. Tackett was born October 18, 1951 in Salyersville, Kentucky the son of the late Beecher and Flotella Howard Tackett.
Mr. Tackett was an avid gamesman and enjoyed hunting through the various seasons. However, nothing beat deer season in his eyes.
Jeffrey Clay “Grayhawk” Sizemore age 49 of Puncheon Creek Road, Royalton, Kentucky passed away Friday, November 28, 2014 at his home. He was born January 2, 1965 in Flint, Michigan to Jack and Lori Risner Sizemore of Royalton, Kentucky. Also surviving are one brother Jack (Merlene) Sizemore of Dexter, Michigan, two sisters Jill Sizemore of Royalton, Kentucky and Teresa (Ray) Howard of Morehead, Kentucky, one niece Nicole (Brandon) Oliver, one nephew Adam Howard and fiancé Valerie Ufer and Jeffrey’s fiancé Kayla Hughes also survives him.
Odell Risner, age 79, a resident of Lee Roark Road in Hazel Green, Kentucky; passed away Friday, November 28, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Risner was born August 31, 1935 in Salyersville, Kentucky the son of the late Lloyd and Dora (Risner) Risner. Also, preceding him in death is one sister, Mary Risner.
Jerry Ray Allen, age 61, a resident of East Point, Kentucky; passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014 at the Cabell Huntington Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia.
Mr. Allen was born August 25, 1953 in Royalton, Kentucky the son of the late Hatcher Allen and Kathleen Miller Whitten.
Mr. Allen was employed as a truck driver until his retirement. He regularly attended and enjoyed service at the Trinity Chapel.
Danny Joe Caudill age 64 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born September 23, 1950 in Paintsville, Kentucky to the late Harold Caudill and Pauline Salyer Caudill, who survives.
Sister Mary Catherine Vukmanic, OSU, 95, died Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Mercy Sacred Heart Home in Louisville, KY. A native of Pittsburgh, she entered the Ursuline Sisters there in 1936. Sister Vukmanic was the last member of that congregation, the Ursuline Sisters of Pittsburgh, which amalgamated with the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville in 1958.
She earned a B.A. in English from the College of St. Elizabeth in Morristown, NJ; an M.A. in English from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, and a Th.D. in Theology from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville.
