On Friday, March 5th, several people gathered in at North Magoffin Elementary School to provide the students with an educational background about the Civil War while highlighting the events that took place here in Magoffin County.  The Battle of Puncheon Creek was the subject of the presentation.  Each person took time to contribute information such as hardships, clothing, food, etc.  Students also enjoyed a dance to a song called Silver Bugle (sung by Charlie Sizemore)  as one of the forms of entertainment during the war.  This event was a prelude to Magoffin County’s 150th Celebration.
