JACKSON, KY – Residents of Magoffin County are invited to attend a public informational meeting to discuss a project to improve the Bert T. Combs Mountain Parkway near Salyersville. The meeting will be held Tuesday, Oct. 16 from 5-7 p.m. at the Magoffin County Courthouse. It will be an “open house” format meeting with no formal presentation.
Representatives from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and project consultants will be available to answer questions and provide information about the project. Handouts will be available describing the project’s purpose and need, the right-of-way acquisition process and potential utility relocation concerns.
A project is under consideration to reconstruct the Mountain Parkway between milepoints 73.5 and 75.3, or from west of the KY 7 interchange extending to the bridge crossing Burning Fork near the route’s eastern terminus at US 460.
This is a separate project than the one proposed for widening US 460 through the “Restaurant Row” section of Salyersville, for which a public meeting was held in May.
Persons with disabilities who wish to attend the meeting but have special accessibility needs that require assistance should contact the project manager, Jason Blackburn, at (606) 666-8841 to request special assistance.
