The Magoffin County Extension Office wrapped up its 2011 Fun in the Sun, Summer Day Camp with several fun and exciting activities! 

In keeping with a “Down on the Farm” theme, campers were entertained by Magoffin County Extension Bee Association members, Ned Hackworth, Edison McCarty and Robert Wireman.  The bee members brought various types of bee farming equipment for the kids to view including a hive robbing suit, smoker and demonstration hive with live, working bees. 

On a separate day, guest speaker, Patty Auxier, visited campers and helped teach them to make their own butter which they later sampled on her delicious homemade cornbread!  Additionally, campers had plenty of time to work on leadership and team building as they participated in several enjoyable games created to develop such skills.  Campers also participated in a pizza and pool party at the city pool as they savored their last day of summer camp!
