East Ky. Toll Road Bonds Set For Sale

The Kentucky Turnpike Authority decided Tuesday to sell approximately $38 million worth of Eastern Kentucky toll-road bonds by negotiation, according to the Courier-Journal.
Engineering on the 40-mile section from Winchester to Campton as nearly completed, and all except about six tracts of right of way has been bough, the article states. Highway Commissioner Henry Ward is quoted as saying that the Highway Department is prepared to move at once toward construction of this section of the toll road as soon as the bonds are sold and the money becomes available.

The paper also states that the toll road will extend from Winchester to Salyersville, with “freeway arms from Salyersville to Pikeville by way of Prestonsburg and from Campton to Whitesburg by way of Hazard
