Valedictorians
Haley Isaac
Haley is the daughter of Chris and Caroline Isaac.
She has earned numerous honors and awards while in high school. They include being a 2010 Murray State University Governors Scholar Alumni, 2011 PEPP Scholar at the University of Kentucky, straight A student K-12 grades, only student to pass the AP English composition exam, Who's Who Among American High School Students, Gifted and Talented Program, distinguished KCCT Test scores, 09/10 Morehead State University Impate participate, and spanish mentor to both elementary and middle school
students.
Haley was a four year member of the MCHS tennis team, in which she was the top female player in singles and doubles earning her the first women's tennis scholarship. She is the Secretary of CYC and the Junior Homemakers Association, Vice President of FCCLA at the chapter and regional level, member of HOSA, Key Club, Champions Against Drugs, SADD, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, STLP, Academic Team, PSI, HOT, Mu Alpha Theta, FEA, along with Royalton United Baptist Church, and a volunteer in the emergency department at Highlands Regional Medical Center.
Haley will be attending the University of Pikeville where she was one of ten to be selected as an osteopathic medical scholar. She was also selected to be a member of the UP choir. Haley's plans are to major in biology and become a doctor of Osteopathic Medicine specializing in Pediatrics.
Peyton Howard
Peyton is the daughter of Rick and Jill Howard.
Peyton has received many accolades based on her academic performance. She was a 2010 Governor's Scholar, has earned Distinguished KCCT test scores, received the Presidential Scholarship at the University of Kentucky, has been on the honor roll K-12, was recognized by Who's Who Among American High School Students, and is in Gifted and Talented.
During her time at MCHS, Peyton has participated in several activities. She has been a four year member of the MCHS Dance Team, a PSI Teen Leader and Council Member, a Towards No Tobacco Teen Leader, a Best You Can Be Teen Leader, a member of the BETA club, a member of the Spirit Club, and a Dance Etc. dancer.
Peyton will be attending the University of Kentucky on the Presidential Scholarship where she will be a member of the UK Varsity Dance Team.
Salutatorian
Megan Howard
Megan is the daughter of Jeff and Tammy Howard.
Throughout high school Megan has been a part of Gifted and Talented and participated in the 09/10 Morehead State University Impate program. She was also awarded the WYMT Mountain Classic Scholarship. Megan is a member of HOSA, Key Club, Champions Against Drugs, SADD, CYC, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, FCCLA and FEA. Megan plans on attending Big Sandy Community and Technical College where she will be in the honors program. After two years, she intends to transfer to Morehead State University where she will major in Engineering.
