Community Day a success
Special to the Independent

Magoffin County came out for Community Day on Saturday, with plenty of activities and entertainment for all, keeping a large crowd during the rain and steamy temperatures.

Community Day was a success, with a total of $78,716.25 to be divided among the participating organizations, with $15,140 in ticket sales.
Salyersville National Bank President Donna Salyer said, “I think it’s phenomenal that a small community can raise that much money in one day.”
Over the past seven years of Community Day, a total of $472,423.13 has been earned for non-profit civic organizations.
Checks for the participating organizations will be given Monday, October 18.
