Indictments released

SALYERSVILLE – A Magoffin County grand jury released the following indictments on February 15:

Joshua S. Standifer, 25, of H.B. Arnett Road, in Salyersville, is charged with one count of theft by unlawful taking or disposition, auto, $10,000 or more but under $1 million (a Class C felony). According to the indictment, on or about December 20, 2023, Standifer allegedly took or exercised control over movable property of another person, with the property valued at $22,000.

Jordan Keeton, 26, of Jenkins, KY, is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense, methamphetamine (Class D felony). According to the indictment, on or about October 3, 2023, Keeton allegedly possessed a quantity of methamphetamine.

Dougles Caldwell, 40, of Dry Bread, in Salyersville, is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense, methamphetamine (Class D felony). According to the indictment, on or about July 13, 2023, Caldwell allegedly possessed a quantity of methamphetamine.

Shawn King, 35, of Paintsville, is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense, methamphetamine (Class D felony). According to the indictment, on or about May 16, 2023, King allegedly possessed a quantity of meth.

Nathaniel Stephens, 42, of Campbellsville, is charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon (Class C Felony). According to the indictment, on or about April 5, 2023, Stephens allegedly possessed a handgun when he had previously been convicted of a felony.

Matthew Owens, 49, of West Liberty, is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense, greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine (Class C felony). According to the indictment, on or about April 28, 2023, Owens allegedly possessed a quantity of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute and/or sell.

Nathaniel Stephens, 42, of Campbellsville, is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense, methamphetamine (Class D felony); and three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia (Class A misdemeanors). According to the indictment, on or about April 5, 2023, Stephens allegedly possessed a quantity of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia items.

Christopher L. Caldwell, 33, of Lima, OH, is charged with first-degree terroristic threatening (Class C felony); falsely reporting an incident to law enforcement (Class A misdemeanor); public intoxication of a controlled substance (excluding alcohol) (Class B misdemeanor); second-degree disorderly conduct (Class B misdemeanor); and menacing (Class B misdemeanor). According to the indictment, on or about October 4, 2023, Caldwell allegedly threatened to commit a crime likely to result in serious physical injury or substantial property damage of another person; falsely reported an incident to law enforcement that resulted in an emergency response, appeared in a public place manifestly under the influence of a controlled substance; engaged in threatening behavior with the intent to cause public inconvenience, annoyance or alarm; and intentionally placed another person in reasonable apprehension of imminent physical injury.

Warrants were issued for all defendants charged in the above indictments.
