CELINA, Ohio - Jaren Lovely claimed another honor on Tuesday, July 3, earning the Grand Lake Mariners' Hothead Player of the Game award.

Lovely, a Magoffin County High School graduate who completed his freshman season with the Marshall University baseball program in the spring, continues to thrive with the summer baseball team. He also earned a Hothead Player of the Game award in June.

Established in 1990, Grand Lake is a member of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate Baseball League.

The Mariners organization is in its 28th season. Grand Lake is the second oldest member of the Great Lakes "The Lakes" Summer Collegiate Baseball League. The Great Lakes league is one of eight summer leagues approved by the National Alliance of College Summer Baseball (NACSB) and the only summer collegiate league sponsored by Major League Baseball which also requires the use of wood bats.

The 2018 Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League consists of 14 teams in three divisions.

Lovely batted .250 with four hits in 16 at-bats at Marshall University during his freshman season. Multiple members of the Marshall University baseball team are playing in summer leagues.
