UPDATE: Minutes before this issue was sent to be printed (on Wednesday, July 11) the body of Dairl Robbins was found a quarter mile from his home in Morgan County. His body and the ATV were found off the side of the road. No other information was available at press time.
MAGOFFIN/MORGAN COUNTIES – Crews are searching for a Morgan County man who was last seen in Magoffin on Monday night.
The family of Dairl J. Robbins, 57 years old, from Morgan County, has reported him missing, stating he was last seen around 9:30 p.m. on July 9 leaving a friend’s house on Jellico in Magoffin. He was reportedly driving a green 2003 Yahama 4x4 four-wheeler and was last seen wearing a pair of black jeans, a camouflage T-shirt, brown BearClaw boots and an American flag do-rag. He is described as being 5’10” tall and weighs 160 pounds.
He was believed to be traveling on HWY 1260 toward his home, located 5 ½ miles from the house on Jellico.
Robbins was reported missing on Tuesday, July 10 and crews organized and started searching the area around 8 a.m. Wednesday morning. People on four-wheelers and on foot are searching the area at press time.
Morgan County Rescue Squad Captain Jody Oldham told Mortimer Media Group, “We have people on four-wheelers, local people that know the area are helping with the search, we have ground people. We’re trying to turn over every rock until we find him.”
If anyone has any information about Robbins’ whereabouts, he or she is asked to contact the West Liberty Police Department at 606-743-4385. Morgan County Rescue Squad, Magoffin County Rescue Squad, Morgan County Sheriff Department and 172 Fire Department are all working the investigation.
