The Miss Magoffin County Pageant was held Friday night, August 31, 2018 at the Prater’s Fort Cabin Complex in downtown Salyersville. The pageant was hosted by Jimmy Caldwell, WKYT weatherman and native of Salyersville. The theme for the pageant was “Ready to Rumble” and featured a sports theme.
Local singers, musicians and actors entertained the crowd along with Heritage Days pageant winners.
Four lovely young ladies competed for the title in the four phases of the competition: Private Interview, Swimsuit, Talent, and Evening Gown with On-Stage Question.
Kaisen Bree Eastep, the 17-year-old daughter of Ashley Minix and Dwayne Eastep, of Salyersville, was crowned on Friday night as Miss Magoffin County 2018/2019. A senior at Magoffin County High School, she plans to attend Morehead State University and become a special education teacher. Her platform issue is "Supporting Families Affected by Substance Abuse.” For her talent, she performed a lyrical dance to "To Build a Home."
As the new Miss Magoffin County, Eastep is receiving a scholarship, official sash, flowers from Town & Country Flowers, trophy, official Miss America local crown, sash, and sponsorship to the Miss Kentucky Pageant held in Louisville, KY in June of 2019.

Kaisen will represent Magoffin County in the Miss Kentucky Pageant in June, 2019 in Louisville, KY.
