SALYERSVILLE – Despite blacking out and crossing multiple lines of traffic on the Mountain Parkway on Tuesday, a motorist somehow managed to not hit any moving vehicles before hitting an embankment and coming to a stop.

The female driver, who has not been identified, told rescue crews she last remembered being in the parking lot at the doctor’s office and feeling sick. She had got on the Mountain Parkway, traveling west on Restaurant Row, when she reportedly blacked out, crossed two lanes of traffic, hit a truck parked at the tobacco store, then crossed all three lanes of the Parkway before hitting the embankment.

The airbag deployed during the accident.

The driver’s condition is unknown at press time.
