Jimmy Wayne Hammond age 34 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Monday, April 13, 2015 at his home. He was born March 1, 1981 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky to the late Lloyd Elwood Hammond and Judy Poe Gambill, who survives. Survivors also include four brothers; Tony Gambill, Stevie Hammond and Ronnie Hammond all of Salyersville, Kentucky and Lloyd Hammond of McDowell, Kentucky, and two sisters, Janet Jordan and Carolyn Hammond both of Salyersville, Kentucky.

Ruth Joseph, age 79, of Meeker, Ohio, and formerly of Salyersville, Kentucky, died peacefully Saturday morning, April 11, 2015, at the Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky following a several month illness.
On September 23, 1935, Ruth was born in Salyersville, Kentucky, the third of six children of Sherman and Cliffie (Holiday) Blevins.

Patricia Sue Tackett Patrick age 56 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Friday, April 10, 2015 at her home. She was born March 3, 1959 in Paintsville, Kentucky to the late John and Laura Salvage Tackett. She was the wife of Ronnie Patrick, who survives.

Nathan Kyle Lemaster infant son of D.J. and Stephanie Minix Lemaster passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his paternal grandparents, Dude and Jan Lemaster of Salyersville, Kentucky, maternal grandparents, Gary Minix of Pikeville, Kentucky and Della Minix of Salyersville, Kentucky and a host of family and friends.

Myrtle Marie Gullett Preston, age 82, a resident of Lick Run Road in Chillicothe, Ohio; passed away Monday, April 1, 2015 at Heartland of Chillicothe in Chillicothe, Ohio after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Preston was born May 5, 1932 in Salyersville, Kentucky the daughter of the late Amos and Lorie Wheeler Gullett.  Also, preceding her in death is her brother, Walter Gullett; and sisters, Berthie Blanton and Nola Montgomery.

Ray Miller age 57 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at the Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. He was born November 26, 1957 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late Charlie and Louisa Allen Miller. He was the husband of Anna Daniels Miller, who survives. Survivors also include one daughter Tonya Stapleton of Paintsville, Kentucky, two stepsons Tony Howard and Doug Howard both of Salyersville, Kentucky, three grandchildren and six step grandchildren.

Lester Gray Cole age 57 of Fletcher Branch Road, Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at the Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. He was born June 26, 1957 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to Lawrence Gray Cole and the late Margie Prater Fletcher. In addition to his father, Lester is survived by three brothers; Tim (Sharon) Cole, Mark Cole and Curtis (Rachel) Cole all of Salyersville, Kentucky, and three sisters; Linda (Larry) Bailey, Vickie (Tootie) Minix and Cathy (Charlie) Cantrell all of Salyersville, Kentucky.

Goldie Shepherd, age 88, of Wheatfield, IN,  passed away at her residence on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 while surrounded by her loving family.  Goldie was born on November 25, 1926 in Magoffin County, KY, the daughter of George and Pokie (Hale) Wireman.

Verna Helton Adams Fairchild, 97, of Salyersville, KY, passed away March 17, 2015 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky surrounded by her loving daughters and grandchildren.  Born on July 24, 1917 in Magoffin County, Verna was the daughter of Lacey and Dollie Francis Helton.  She graduated from Campbellsville College in 1936 before marrying her beloved John “Shug” Adams.  After their marriage, Verna and Shug taught several years in Magoffin County before owning the Adams Appliance Store and the Ivy Point Motel.

William “Little Boy” Lovely age 80 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Friday, March 13, 2015 at the Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. He was born August 31, 1934 in Magoffin County, Kentucky. He was the husband of Judy Cheek Lovely, who survives.
